Pakistan’s efforts against the climate crisis

Unemployment has soared as millions have lost jobs due to lockdowns around the world.

Pakistan, though its greenhouse gas emissions aren’t as large as some other countries, is among the top five to be most affected by climate change.

During the lockdown, the prime minister allowed the forestry agency to resume its tree planting, and hire more people, totaling more than 63,600 jobs. Not only does this provide people with money to alleviate their financial stresses, but it also helps increase the number of trees.

80% of the planet’s forest cover has been lost because of deforestation.

according to data from the World Resources Institute which was mentioned on helpsavenature.com

Deforestation is the removal of trees for other uses including agriculture, grazing, logging, etc. The number of trees being cut down is way too much way too fast, and governments are the best systems to enact rapid, widespread change.
